New Zealand English uses British spelling, such as colour and centre, plus plenty of local words. A jandal is a flip-flop, a chilly bin is a cool box, a dairy is a corner shop, tramping is hiking, and "sweet as" means fine. A few of these make a script sound like it came from Aotearoa.

Te reo Māori is an official language, and its words are part of everyday Kiwi English: kia ora, whānau for family, kai for food and mahi for work. Many place names are Māori too, such as Whangārei, Paraparaumu and Tauranga. Preview each one, and if a voice reads it wrongly, set the reading once in the pronunciation dictionary.

The Kiwi accent is easy to spot once you know it. The short i in fish drifts toward "fush", and yes can sound close to "yis". Statements often rise at the end, and "eh" closes many casual lines. Write short, relaxed sentences for local tourism, council and retail scripts, and let the voice carry the accent.

Yes, on a paid plan: paid plans include commercial rights, and the Free plan is for personal and evaluation use only. Starter costs $5 for the first month, then $19 a month.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.

Most now aim for the Māori way: every vowel is sounded, and wh is usually said like an f. Whanganui starts with "fang", and Taupō ends in a long o. Older English readings still exist, so preview each name carefully.

For a character or a light ad, yes, but Australians spot a Kiwi accent quickly and will hear the speaker as a New Zealander. A Kiwi voice is the right pick when the brand, product or setting comes from New Zealand.
