Hungarian marks vowel length, and length changes meaning. Kerek is round and kerék is a wheel; öt is five and őt is him or her. The double acute on ő and ű marks the long forms of ö and ü, so type them exactly. Stress always falls on the first syllable, so most of the work is in spelling. Digraphs such as sz, cs, gy, ny and zs are single sounds, and a lone s sounds like English sh.

A dot after a figure makes it an ordinal: a 3. emeleten means on the third floor. Dates run year first, as in 2026. október 13. Suffixes join figures and acronyms with a hyphen, as in 2026-ban and az EU-ban. Decimals take a comma. If a number at the end of a sentence comes out as an ordinal by mistake, write it as a word, then preview again.

Decide between te and Ön before you write. Banks, insurers and public services usually say Ön, while many retail and app brands now speak to customers as te. Keep the verb endings consistent with your choice. Hungarian names put the family name first, as in Kovács Anna. Foreign names keep their spelling, and a suffix after a silent letter takes a hyphen, as in Shakespeare-rel.

Yes. Hungarian has 1 male and 5 female voices. Use the gender filter above the voice list and try a few with your own first line.

Yes, on a paid plan: paid plans include commercial rights, and the Free plan is for personal and evaluation use only. Starter costs $5 for the first month, then $19 a month.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.

Write them as you would in print, then listen. Remember that a dot after a number marks an ordinal, so 5. reads as ötödik. Dates go year, month, day. Suffixes attach with a hyphen, as in 15-én. For a figure that is read wrongly in context, write it out in words or add the reading to the pronunciation dictionary[[C067]].

It depends on the audience. Ön is the safe choice for banking, health, legal and government messages, and for older listeners. Te suits most consumer brands, apps and social clips aimed at younger people. Whichever you choose, use it throughout, including the verb endings and possessive forms, so the narrator does not change tone halfway through a script.
