Kannada and Telugu scripts share an ancestor and look alike, but the letters are not interchangeable, so type in Kannada script. In a consonant cluster the second letter usually sits below the first as an ottakshara, as in ಕನ್ನಡ. A ರ at the start of a cluster becomes the arkavottu, a small mark written after the next letter, as in ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ and ಧರ್ಮ.
Use ನೀವು for customers and viewers and ನೀನು only for friends. Standard written Kannada, close to the speech of Mysuru and Bengaluru, works for most audiences. North Karnataka speech around Dharwad and Hubballi adds ರೀ for politeness, as in ಬರ್ರಿ, and the coast near Mangaluru lives alongside Tulu and Konkani. Keep regional words for characters and local ads, and preview them first.
Bengaluru scripts mix in English for tech words such as app, update and login. Many writers spell them in Kannada letters, as in ಆ್ಯಪ್, while brand names stay in Latin letters. Pick one approach and keep it. Place names with two spellings, such as Bengaluru and Bangalore, need a decision too, and the pronunciation dictionary can hold a fixed reading.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.
Tulu and Kodava are separate languages, though both are often written in Kannada letters. A Kannada voice will read the letters, but with Kannada sounds and stress, so a Tulu or Kodava speaker will hear an outsider's accent. Preview a line before you commit, and use these voices for scripts written in Kannada itself.
Type ordinary digits, since Kannada numerals such as ೧ and ೨ are seldom used in ads. Large amounts read naturally in ಲಕ್ಷ and ಕೋಟಿ. For a phone number, put spaces between groups of digits so they are read in short chunks. If a figure still comes out wrong, write it in Kannada words.
