Venezuelan Spanish has a Caribbean rhythm. In relaxed speech a final s often fades to a soft h, and a d between vowels can vanish, so cansado comes out close to cansao. Choose these voices for listeners in Venezuela and for the large Venezuelan communities in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Spain and the United States.

Most of the country says tú to friends and usted to elders, customers and officials. Zulia is different. In Maracaibo people use vos with verb forms close to Spain's vosotros, as in vos tenéis. Keep that for a script set in Zulia, because it sounds out of place in a Caracas ad.

Everyday words carry the accent more than spelling does. A young person is a chamo or chama, a friend is a pana, and good news is chévere. At the market a banana is a cambur and black beans are caraotas. Ya va means hold on a moment. Slang such as vaina is common at home but too casual for a bank or a school.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.

No. Write pescado, not pescao, and ustedes, not ustedeh. Respelled words look wrong in captions and can confuse the voice. For a casual feel, change the word choice instead, such as pana for friend, then press Play to check the tone.

Millions of Venezuelans now live in Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, Madrid and Miami. Community radio, church groups and shops that serve them often want a voice that sounds like home. Keep local food and place names, and test the first line.
