“In the biggest languages, the voices sound nearly human.”

“…an impressive natural-like array of voices and great customer support.”

Sinhala has its own script, and many office files still use legacy fonts such as FM Abhaya that only look like Sinhala on screen. Text copied from them pastes as stray Latin letters, so convert it to Unicode first. Then look at the joined forms. The rakaransaya in ප්රදේශය and the yansaya in ව්යාපාරය rely on a hidden joiner character that some editors drop.
Decide which Sinhala you are writing. The written language, with forms such as මම යමි, suits formal notices and reports, while everyday speech says මම යනවා. Most voice overs sound better in a tidy spoken style, close to how a radio presenter talks between songs. Address a general audience as ඔබ, and avoid switching between the written and spoken styles inside one sentence.
Everyday Sinhala uses the same digits as English, and large sums are counted in ලක්ෂ (lakhs) and කෝටි (crores). If you want an amount said in lakhs, write it out in words. English words such as phone, loan and online are common in Sinhala speech. You can write them in Sinhala letters, as in ෆෝන්, or leave them in English, so preview both. Fix a name that keeps coming out wrong in the pronunciation dictionary.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.
It is better not to. Romanised Sinhala, often called Singlish in Sri Lanka, has no fixed spelling, so a Sinhala voice cannot read it reliably. Type in Sinhala script with a phonetic keyboard app, which turns Roman input into Sinhala letters as you type, or use the Wijesekara layout. Then paste the Unicode text into the box and press Play.
No. Sinhala and Tamil come from different language families and use different scripts, even though Sri Lankans share many borrowed words. Write a separate Tamil version and try the Sri Lankan Tamil page for it. Keep place names in each language's own form, such as මහනුවර in Sinhala and கண்டி in Tamil, both meaning Kandy.
