Henan speech belongs to Central Plains Mandarin, the group that also covers the Guanzhong plain of Shaanxi and parts of neighbouring provinces. It is close enough to standard Mandarin that any Chinese listener can follow it, so you write ordinary standard Chinese. The accent lies in the tones, which differ in pitch from Beijing speech.
The best known Henan word is 中, meaning fine or OK, as in 中不中. Others include 得劲 for comfortable or great, and 恁 for you. Use one or two in an ad or a vlog for warmth, but leave them out of formal narration, where they can sound like a joke. Play any line with 恁, since a voice may not give it the local reading.
Several Henan place names have uncommon readings. 浚县 is Xùn, 武陟 is Wǔzhì, and 泌阳 is Bìyáng. Play each one, and if the voice gets it wrong, set the reading once in the pronunciation dictionary. With a single male voice, plan the script for one narrator, such as a guide at the Longmen Grottoes or the host of a local food channel.

Choose it when you want listeners to place the speaker in central China. It fits tourism films about Zhengzhou, Kaifeng or Luoyang, food channels, regional ads and characters in comedy sketches. Because the script is standard Chinese, people elsewhere will still follow it. For national campaigns or training, standard Mandarin from the Chinese page sounds more neutral.
No. Henan speech has no separate script, and everything is written in the same Simplified characters used across mainland China. A few dialect words have unsettled spellings, so you may see the same word written in different ways online. Stick to forms your audience will recognise, such as 中 and 得劲, and preview them.
