For years most Burmese text was typed in Zawgyi, a font encoding that is not Unicode, and much older material still is. Pasted into a Unicode box it shows broken stacks and vowels in the wrong place, and no voice can read it properly. Convert old text to Unicode, then read one paragraph by eye before you press Play.

Burmese does not put spaces between words. Writers use spaces to break up phrases, and the marks ၊ and ။ work like a comma and a full stop. Add a ၊ where a reader would naturally breathe, and close every sentence with ။. Tone marks matter as well: the dot ့ and the visarga း change a syllable's tone, so a missing mark gives you a different word.

Choose between literary and spoken Burmese before you write. News and official notices use the written style, with endings such as သည် and ၏, while ads and videos use speech forms such as တယ် and ရဲ့. Politeness words depend on the speaker too. A man says ကျွန်တော် and ends polite lines with ခင်ဗျာ, while a woman says ကျွန်မ and uses ရှင်, so match them to the voice you pick. Foreign names spelled in Burmese letters vary a lot; fix one reading in the pronunciation dictionary.

Yes. Burmese has 1 male and 1 female voices. Use the gender filter above the voice list and try a few with your own first line.

Yes, on a paid plan: paid plans include commercial rights, and the Free plan is for personal and evaluation use only. Starter costs $5 for the first month, then $19 a month.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.

Both names refer to the same language. Myanmar is the official name of the country and is often used for the language too, while Burmese is the usual English name, so searches use both. Whichever you call it, write in the Myanmar script with Unicode. Standard Burmese, taught in schools and heard on national media, is based on the speech of central Myanmar.

Both are common. Signs, newspapers and official papers mostly use Burmese digits, such as ၁၀ for ten, while phone numbers and prices online often use Western ones. Choose one style for a script and keep to it. If you type Burmese digits, check that zero is the digit ၀ and not the letter ဝ, which looks the same, then preview the line.
